Danielle & Andrew
August 10, 2021
Hi! My name is Danielle and together with my husband Andrew we are the travel bloggers behind littlesherpatravels.com While we work full time, we enjoy our weekend by exploring Australia, and we love to create short break travel guides to inspire others to do the same.
I'm a 31-year old Gold Coast born local. My love of travel started young when I got to participate in a primary school-led Japanese exchange program. From there it never stopped, I went on to work in the travel industry for over 10 years, living in Melbourne, London and more recently Singapore. That was where I met and fell in love with Andrew, who was based working in Singapore as an engineer. Andrew was born in England and was even more of a seasoned traveler than me. He grew up between Singapore, Brazil and Dubai.
In March 2020, we had plans to relocate for work to the USA, however, the world had other plans for us. As international borders began to close, we decided to head back to Australia instead and be back close to family on the Gold Coast, Australia. Since we carry out our work remotely, we now have the flexibility to get out and explore our beautiful land! Through the challenges of Covid, we have also been more inspired than ever and worked harder than ever on our blog to turn it into a real side hustle for us, by starting to work more with brands on mutual collaborations.
As this is Andrew's first time living in Australia and with international borders closed, we've felt even more inspired by domestic travel. Travel within Australia has taken on a new meaning for me, it's seeing destinations for the first time through fresh eyes with Andrew being new here. With border closes too, we've dug deeper in finding rural and untouched gems we might not have considered to travel to otherwise, like the Granite Belt wine region in Stanthorpe QLD, The Redland Coast, and Magnetic Island in Queensland with the most stunning tropical waters and beaches. We also finally made it to the red centre of Australia, Uluru, something we'd wanted to do for years but put off in favour of international travel. We now enjoy inspiring others to experience more of Australia too.
